oggi a scuola

"Leonardo entered the classroom today very excited about a generator he had created at home with his family. He explained that there were wires and magnets, attached to a light bulb and that if you added the movement of a drill the generator would light the bulb. The children were very excited by this creation. The teachers supported this excitement by finding different types of magnets and wire in our classroom. They also offered foil squares and metal rings.

The children approached the provocation differently. Leonardo immediately began winding copper wire around magnet wands.

Giulia observed Leonardo and asked, “ What we can make with these magnets?”

Leonardo responded, “Experiments.” That seemed to satisfy Giulia and she found a wooden horseshoe magnet and began winding a thick silver wire around it. She soon discovered the smaller horseshoe magnets and began arranging those around a ring.

She commented, “ I need to make a circle around.”

The two then began connecting their pieces together. Leonardo commented, “She gonna put this (a piece of wire) on her work and I ‘m gonna put this on my work, we only connected them."
