"The children were offered several provocations to explore drawing based on their observations. [...] The second provocation invited the children to observe a glass container holding large reeds. Immediately those drawing began to contemplate what they wanted to include in their drawings. Sebastien and Leonardo began by drawing the glass container. Others began by representing the reeds. [...] As our study of observational drawing continues the children are becoming more focused on the details of the items they are representing. They are beginning to noticing colors, shapes, sizes and other characteristics."
