Today Bethania, Eduardo and Leonardo revisited their self portraits in another media. Clay slabs and sharpened chopsticks were provided for the children to carve/ draw their self portrait.
The process began by first discussing their previous self portrait work. They were asked what materials they used before to create their self portraits. The children were then asked to look at their faces in the mirror and reflect on their previous experience to find out what they needed to include in this self portrait. Leonardo: "I made a circle, 2 polka dots for my eyes, and then my nose then my mouth." As the children were creating, they would notice facial features such as lips and teeth that they wanted to include.
